Walter Melnick (1925-2018) was a Syracuse musician, who played trumpet and bass for such bands as The Buddy Morrow Band, the Carl Silfer Orchestra, the Jim DeLine Gang, and numerous Syracuse-area ensembles. He served in the U.S. Army as a bugler during World War II, and worked as a clerk/typist for the U. S. Army Recruiting Battalion in Syracuse.
