Daisy Lemon Coldiron was a longtime resident of Perry, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Poetry Society of Oklahoma and won their inaugural prize for best Oklahoma poem in 1936. A critic said of one of her books: "There is epic strength in these poems by Mrs. Coldiron, a pioneer resident and poet of the State which she celebrates in lines that are tanged with the salt and sorrows of its historic soil."
