Walter Ben Hare (1880-1950) wrote over 200 plays, performed mostly by amateur groups. He was also a meteorologist from 1905 until his death. Probably the best known of his plays was “Aaron Slick Fom Punkin Crick,” a rural melodrama which received over 20,000 performances and sold over one million copies.
