The dust jacket indicates that this is the first book-length biography of Edmund G. Ross. Mr. Ross came to the Kansas prairie in a covered wagon, as part of the abolition migration. He later served as a Union officer during the Civil War. While serving as a Senator from Kansas, he cast a vote not to impeach Andrew Johnson. The decision on whether to remove Johnson from office came down to this one vote.
